Strawberry Snow

Monday July 7, 2008

When northern lights commence to glow … watch out where the huskies go …

Scandinavia is a serenely beautiful land of midnight sun in the summer, of the northern lights in the winter. And even in the balmy days of July, snow can be found not only on the glaciers of the fjords, but also in the form of MansikkalumiFinnish Strawberry Snow. Equally refreshing whether prepared and served immediately in dessert glasses or frozen into a superlative molded dessert, strawberry snow is a sure cure for the steamy dog days of July.

Watch out where the huskies go … but do try out the strawberry snow!

(With both credit and apologies to Frank Zappa, Don't Eat the Yellow Snow, 1974).
