1. Food

There's been some discussion in the Scandinavian Food forums lately about Karelian Hot Pot, the national dish of Finland. Karelian Hot Pot, or Karjalan Paisti in Finnish, is a great (and frugal) dish to make when you're short on preparation time and on cash. It takes all of 10 minutes to chop the ingredients and toss them into a slow cooker the meat cooks all day and fills the house with that super "homemade stew" smell to welcome you home in the evening or after a busy afternoon running errands or raking leaves.
