Sweet Soup

One of the more healthy food "crazes" of the last few years has been the replacement of fat- and sugar-laden desserts with fruit soups - commonly made from fresh berries and served as a light finish to warm weather meals. As the days grow shorter, though, and the wind chill rises, it's good to remember that old-fashioned fruit soup, one of the hallmark dishes of Scandinavia, is an equally delicious and heart-healthy dessert. "Sweet soup," as it is often called, can be quickly prepared from whatever dried fruits one has available, and is made extra-special when garnished with homemade fruit soup floaters.
